bringing out the best in boys

Vacancy 1

Teacher of English- Required for January 2024

We wish to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our supportive team and make a significant difference to our students through their teaching.

The post offers a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to develop innovative practice in teaching and learning, further develop curricular and co-curricular experiences and really become part of an exceptional group of committed and caring staff in a happy and thriving school. This post would be equally suitable for an Early Careers Teacher or a teacher with a proven track record of securing good student outcomes.

Our Early Careers Teachers can rely on excellent support through the golden package with Bright Futures, experienced school based mentors and clear frameworks within which they can develop their pedagogy and practice.

We prioritise staff and student wellbeing at Wellacre and have realistic policies for feedback, two data captures a year and a centralised detention system. We recognise staff and student achievement and provide tailored CPD programmes which have been recognised in the Gold Award from the Teacher Development Trust.

The English department is well-resourced and forward thinking in curriculum and teaching approaches. Good progress has been made in establishing a culture of reading and feedback from students is very positive.

Wellacre Academy is an 11-16 all boys’ school set in the heart of Trafford.  We have high expectations for all our students and our policies and practices are values driven.  Alongside our lessons, we provide a rich and diverse co-curricular programme that develops character and inspires our students.  We all work together to instil a strong sense of belonging for all, which enables students to succeed and become active members of the community as they move into adulthood.

We are keen to ensure that you have as much information as possible to proceed with your application, therefore, if you would like a conversation about life at Wellacre, ECT provision or the position advertised, please contact Mrs Stacey Partridge skearney(at) who will be happy to assist and answer any questions you may have.
