The aim of the visit was to conduct a human Geography fieldwork enquiry about the redevelopment of Salford Quays.  Students explored the area on foot to see how the area has changed and to collect valuable date to identify the impact on the quality of the environment.  Data collection including traffic surveys, questionnaires and environmental quality surveys.

Student feedback was positive following the visit:

“The tour really helped me to see how the area has changed, something I could not visualise from photos.”

“The best bit of the day was getting to practice the enquiry skills we learnt in lessons.”

Mr Baker, Leader of Geography, said:

“For our GCSE Geography students, this is a topic they will need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in order to be prepared for their GCSE paper 3 exam. Fieldwork experience is an excellent and invaluable learning opportunity.”
