WELLLACRE - Year 8 and Year 9 Student Leaders attend The University of Manchester

The Brilliant Club

Our Year 9 and Year 8 Student Leaders travelled to The University of Manchester to take part in their first event as participants of The Brilliant Club.

The Brilliant Club is an award-winning charity developed to widen access to highly-selective universities for students from underrepresented groups. WELLACRE supports the aims of this programme as a way to enrich our students learning and education. Our students will work with doctoral and postdoctoral researchers as they begin to develop the knowledge, skills and ambition that can help them to secure a future university place.

The Brilliant Club Vision Statement: Our vision is an education system in which young people from non-selective state schools and other low participation backgrounds are proportionately represented at highly selective universities. To this end, we aim to build effective, lasting and meaningful links between schools and universities that are underpinned by excellent teaching and learning, and by positive action to widen access to top universities.
