Dedicated Space for Prayer and Reflection

Wellacre is proud to launch our new Reflection Room. This calming space is a facility that both students and staff can use for prayer, reflection, mindfulness or just to take some quiet time for wellbeing.

On Wednesday 4th May, Principal Mrs Sharrock officially launched the space, inviting Mrs Irwin's Period 6 Mindfulness group as her special guests.  Year 10 student, Zakaria, had the honour of cutting the ribbon and pronouncing the room as open!

From Monday 9th May, the Reflection Room is open to all. If students wish to use the space, they can visit the main office at break or lunch to arrange access.

Whilst not being affiliated to any specific religion, the space has been designed so that students of any faith (or none) can feel comfortable using the room for personal prayer or reflection.

Principal, Mrs Sharrock, said:

“I’m proud of the space we have created for prayer and reflection for students and staff as we continue to enhance our provision to support wellbeing, inclusion and equity. Thank you to the Site Team, Mrs Bailey and the students for their input and hard work in bringing our vision to life.”

Mrs O'Neill, Associate Assistant Principal for SMSC, is happy to answer questions about the Reflection Room should any student or parent/carer wish to discuss.
