WELLACRE Computer Club

During October and in preparation for Computer Science Week (5 - 11th December 2016) the computer Faculty at WELLACRE took part in the ‘HOUR of CODE’, an educational programme ran in collaboration with code.org to offer an opportunity for students to try computer science for one hour.

Mrs Lunn, Leader of Computing, has recently run a series of lunch time coding sessions to continue the great work of our students. These have helped to support our busy Computer Club members to prepare for an upcoming ‘Festival of Coding’ (Easter 2017) by writing code for robots and creating lesson resources for our eager Year 7 learners.

‘I have been so very impressed with the level of enthusiasm and commitment shown by my students who have developed their coding skills using independent learning strategies.’

Mrs Lunn, Leader of Computing Faculty.
