Wellacre Academy is working with The Urmston Partnership’s Urmston in Bloom scheme.  There are plans for Wellacre staff and students to help to improve Urmston town centre and other shopping areas in M41.

Urmston in Bloom have submitted a bid to Aviva for funding and in order for their bid to be considered it requires the full support of the local community, we would really like Wellacre parents, carers and family members to get behind this and vote for Urmston in Bloom.

Voting opens on 24 October 2017 at 9am for four weeks, anyone can register on the Aviva Community fund website (see below) and vote for the community project named Urmston in Bloom Reference No. 17-1483. The projects with the most votes will become finalists.  Each person registering has ten (10) votes, please use all of them to support Urmston in Bloom.

Please take a few minutes to register and vote by clicking the link below, your family and friends can also register and vote for this project no matter where they live.

What is Urmston in Bloom and, if successful, what will the funding be used for?

Urmston in Bloom (Urmston, Flixton and Davyhulme) in conjunction with Urmston Partnership is a volunteer-led and non-profit group which are looking at ways to improve the area for the benefit of the local community, businesses and visitors. The funding will be used to encourage local projects throughout the M41 Area, including, but not restricted to the provision of additional planters, cleaning, painting and refurbishment of street furniture, purchase of equipment, clearing overgrown neglected areas and replanting.  They are working on this scheme in close co-operation with One Trafford (Amey) in order to jointly improve our local environment.

Thank you to all Wellacre families for their support.
