Half Term House Competition Winners Announced

Over the half term, Wellacre launched a House competition for students and staff, and asked everyone if they were up to the challenge!

And, of course, the Wellacre school community stepped up and delivered some fantastic responses to the challenges set!

The competition included these fun, creative and active challenges:

CHALLENGE 1 – PHOTOGRAPHY

What do you love? Who do you love? What are you passionate about? Take a photograph that fulfils this brief.

CHALLENGE 2 – TOILET ROLL BALANCE CHALLENGE

Can you stand, balance a toilet roll on your head, sit down and get back up without it falling off?

CHALLENGE 3 – CAKE DECORATING

What do you love? Who do you love? What are you passionate about? Use your imagination and decorate a cake that fulfils this brief.

Entries include staff and student loves and passions including family, pets, nature, sports, such as football, karate and biking, and hobbies, such as lego and gardening.  Principal Miss Wicks judged the competition entries and the winners are as follows:

Mrs Irwin, Teacher of Humanities and Head of House, organised the competition and was impressed by all the entries. She said:

“It was wonderful to learn more about what our staff and students love, and are inspired by, in their photographs and cakes.  The efforts were outstanding and it was hard to choose winners. It was such a shame we couldn’t taste the cakes too!

“Well done to all our successful toilet roll challenge entries as well; special thanks to Mr Whitehead who demonstrated for all our students!”
