We’re delighted to share the news that, after several rounds of judging, Charlie was selected as a runner-up for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid writing competition and has won a signed copy of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown.

For his well-written diary entry, Charlie made it to the final eleven from over 1,700 entries – a great achievement!

Charlie, Year 7, said:

“I was really happy to hear I was a runner-up in the competition; I wrote a lot for my entry which was about a magical snowman coming to life!  I’ve seen my name listed on the National Literacy Trust website and I’m looking forward to receiving my prize!”

Year 7 students all entered the competition to write their own diary entry of up to 500 words about the most exciting snow day they could imagine.  During English lessons, students studied features of diaries and exploring creative ways to describe extreme weather.
