Primary and secondary schools in the North West were invited to submit entries for the School Gardens Competition.

Schools visited Tatton Park to put together their garden creations to go on display from Wednesday 17th to Sunday 21st July 2019.

Wellacre’s design was inspired by Florence and the Machine and was entitled ‘Butterfly.’   The theme was the life of a Peacock Butterfly, with background artwork designed by former Year 11 students Noah and Ryan, and the whole team creating an intricate garden using flowers to depict the pupae developing into a butterfly.

The competition focused on providing school students with invaluable hands on experience into the world of plants and horticulture, with a particular focus on growing practices and environmentally-friendly gardening.

Winners were chosen during the Show by a panel of judges, and there was a People's Choice Award, offering visitors a chance to vote for their favourite designs.
