Record Number of Parcels for Foodbank

Reverse Advent Success

Wellacre Academy students and staff generously donated 340 emergency food parcels this year as part of a Reverse Advent campaign at Christmas.

The food and toiletries collected throughout December was gratefully received by Trafford South Foodbank to support families in difficulty.

Mrs Irwin, Teacher of RE, has been co-ordinating the annual appeal at Wellacre.

Mrs Irwin said:

“Last year we collected enough food for 167 food parcels, so we set ourselves a target of 200.  When we heard from Trafford South Foodbank that we had doubled the amount raised and donated enough for 340 emergency parcels to help families in the area, we were absolutely thrilled!”
