Mason is a Boxing Champion

Year 10 Mason is Fighting Fit

Year 10 Wellacre student, Mason, has recently claimed the North West Regional Boxing Champion title by winning in the finals. 

With his performance in the ring, Mason is now the North West Champion in his age and 52-54kg weight category.

Mason said:

“I was really happy and relieved to win after all the hard work!”

This is another incredible achievement for Mason, age 14, who now has seven amateur boxing fights under his belt. 

Mason has been boxing for four years and trains and competes with this club, Moss Side Fire Station, which is run by local firefighters and GMCFRS volunteers to support young community members.  

He will now go on and compete in the National Boxing Championships, as well as the International Boxing Championships, in the next few months - everyone at Wellacre wishes him all the best!
