Top of the Podium for Year 7 Lewis

It was fantastic to catch up with Lewis, Year 7, to hear about his driving ambition in indoor karting!

Lewis said:

“I love driving around all the different tracks and competing. I love the speed - it’s my favourite thing about karting!”

In September, Lewis took the podium top spot when he won the British Indoor Karting Championship qualifier at TeamSport Trafford for his age group.  By finishing in the top five, Lewis then successfully qualified for the next level of the competition in Leicester.

At the Leicester event, Lewis finished in the top 4 and qualified as a ‘wildcard’ for the Teamsport National final event in Warrington in November.  We look forward to hearing how Lewis fares in the race!

Next year, Lewis is looking at entering the Total Karting Zero Championship, which is sponsored by Rob Smedley, the British automotive engineer in Formula One motor racing.

Taking his first spin on the racing track at the tender age of 5, Lewis quickly took to the new sport. Lewis has been regularly karting and taking part in race events since then, but now at the age of 11, this is the first year that he has been entering and competing in professional championships.
