Mr Duffy selected Jabin for the Year 11 Learning Director Award because he stands for all Wellacre’s core values and demonstrated them in everything he did, and this showed in his GCSE results.  He was an outstanding Deputy Head Boy and took the lead in year 7 Summer School alongside Oliver - they made an incredible team.

The Ambassador Cup - Governor’s award - Matthew Mills

Matthew was presented with The Ambassador’s Cup by the Governors for his inspirational work with staff to achieve the Dyslexia Friendly School Award.  As well as being a fantastic Deputy Head Boy and Anti-Bullying Ambassador, Matthew is a talented photographer and achieved excellent GCSE results.

Principal’s Award - Oliver Pagan

Oliver won the Principal’s Award for being an excellent Head Boy and extremely supportive of others in his long-standing role in the School Council and as an Anti-Bullying Ambassador.  He performed in every school production, completed the Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and his band, Evolution, won the Trafford Battle of the Bands! As well as upholding Wellacre’s core values, as a polite, respectful and hardworking student, Oliver is the epitome of what we’d like our young students to aspire to.

Principal, Miss Wicks, said:

“Our annual Presentation Evening celebrates the culmination of five years of hard work and effort by students and the investment and teamwork of staff and parents.  We have a strong sense of community here and every student has benefitted from the support of those around them at school and at home.

“We believe success is earned; some enjoy success in the classroom, on the sports field or even on stage.  We are so proud of the GCSE performance of the class of 2019, not just those that hit the top grades, but also those who achieved their true potential and moved on with remarkable results.”
