Of his win, Oscar said:

“Going into the fight I was nervous but I was ready to protect my title from last year.  It felt really good to win as I’ve been training for a while so it was great that it had all paid off.”

Oscar is a member of the Warrington Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu team and trains three times a week. Jiu Jitsu is a martial art and combat sport based on taking your competitor to the ground and using a number of techniques to force them into a submission hold.

Oscar added:

“I like that Jiu Jitsu is a contact sport without punching or kicking.”

Mrs Sharrock, Principal, commented:

“This is an amazing achievement for Toby. We wish him all the best as he prepares for the  World Championships in July!”
