Introducing Wellacre’s New Head Boy

We are proud to announce and introduce the new team for 2022/23. George has been appointed Wellacre’s new Head Boy, Nicky will stand beside him as Senior Deputy Head Boy.  Harrison and Luca have been elected as the Deputy Head Boys and completing the team are Daniel, Anthony and Matthew as Wellacre’s Senior Prefects.  

As well as heading up the Executive Student Council, Senior Leadership team members will take responsibility for whole school areas for development based on their interests including Diversity and Inclusion, Personal Development, and Community and Events.

Congratulations to the new Senior Prefect team: 

Head Boy: George

Senior Deputy Head Boy: Nicky

Deputy Head Boys: Harrison and Luca

Diversity and Inclusion: Nicky (Senior Dep Head Boy) and Daniel (Senior Prefect)

Personal Development (inc. STEM/Careers): Harrison (Dep Head Boy) and Anthony (Senior Prefect)

Community and Events (inc. Transition): Luca (Dep Head Boy) and Matthew (Senior Prefect)

The Senior Leadership team election process saw all candidates create a video manifesto to communicate their vision for Wellacre, which were all played to the study body.  A whole school vote took place, with every staff member and student voting for their preferred Head Boy.

Each candidate was interviewed to reflect on their Student Leadership abilities and experiences, their aspirations, and how they demonstrate Wellacre’s core values - Resilience, Honesty, Pride, Respect, Aspiration - in their learning and beyond. 

Principal, Mrs Sharrock, said:

“We saw a strong field of candidates interviewed for Head Boy this academic year; each student stepping forward for the role performed well and impressed in their interviews, letters of application and manifesto videos. 

Huge congratulations to our new Head Boy, George, and the other successful team members who will all play a hugely important role in student leadership in the year ahead.”
