Nutrition is key to successful learning
Wellacre’s catering team have launched a new menu this academic year, following work with suppliers and advisers to create a nutritious and balanced offer. The new menu includes a wealth of choice with old favorites as well as new ranges to try.
The new menu is fully compliant and allows for a range of dietary needs and student choice. Wellacre students will continue to have access to free vegetables and salad. This year we have introduced water jugs, on each table, in a bid to reduce the amount of plastic waste.
There are hot meals available every day including a vegetarian option. Pasta pots, curry pots and individual pizzas will also be a daily choice, alongside a wide selection of sandwiches, fruit pots and home bakes.
Every month there will be theme day when the canteen staff will create a culinary delight relevant to that day.
Wellacre will provide students with an opportunity to taste possible choices for next term's menu and a group of students will also be working with staff to represent their peers’ views.
The school canteen at Wellacre was awarded a ‘five’ food hygiene rating at it's most recent inspection.
